Lucid Dreaming Workshop


For those who are interested in the practice of lucid dreaming, there is a weekend workshop coming up soon in Helsinki:

Most people have, at some points in their lives, had lucid dreams – becoming aware that one is dreaming while in the dream state. Many of us regularly have lucid dreams but cannot remember or control them.

Some people like to lucid dream for the sheer fun of it, but it can also be used as a powerful tool for spiritual growth. Tibetan Buddhists have been practicing dream yoga for over a thousand years with the purpose of spiritual development.

During this lucid dreaming weekend workshop you will learn practical techniques for developing your lucid dreaming skills. The workshop consists of lectures, various yoga and meditation exercises, lucid dreaming practices, sharing of experiences and possibilities for one-on-one guidance from the instructor, Manu. A more detailed programme will be forwarded to registered participants.

The workshop will be held in English. It is intended for people who have a little bit of experience with lucid dreaming (have had at least one or more lucid dreams) and are interested in learning techniques for deepening their work with lucid dreaming.

COST:  250 euros. Includes teachings, accommodation in shared sleeping space and meals.

The workshop is led by Manu, PhD, Lama, E-RYT 500. Manu lived in India between 2000 and 2011. From 2000 to 2007 he participated in Tibetan Buddhist meditation retreats (Drikung Kagyu Order) in Pithoragarh and Almora, Kumaon Himalayas. He did a three-year Tibetan Buddhist retreat from 2001 to 2004 and then he helped in a second retreat from 2005 to 2007. From 2007 to 2011 Manu lived at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama ashram, Rishikesh, where he worked as the Managing Director of the Meditation Research Institute, sponsored by Swami Veda Bharati. At the Meditation Research Institute Manu offered biofeedback training and supervised research on evoked potentials and physiological responses to external stimuli of advanced meditators from both Hindu and Buddhist traditions with state-of-the-art EEG and other physiological parameter measuring equipment, among other projects.

At the Ashram, Manu also practiced and taught yoga and meditation and regularly gave lectures on the philosophy of Hatha Yoga, Yoga and Meditation Psychology, the Five Pillars of Sadhana or Spiritual Practice, and the Six Perfections or Paramitas of Mahayana Buddhism.

Manu has lectured and taught in Asia, Europe, Africa, North and South America.
